There's been a lot of chat about Katie Boulter's Top 100 wins in 2023, unfairly I think, because not always representative of who is on form in a specific event. But interesting that Stearns has had 12 Top 100 wins in 2023 versus 3 for Boulter. It would be Boulter's best win on ranking since February 2022.
Katie has won $191k so far here in singles , plus a little doubles pocket money as well of $11k, making $202k before todays singles match.
Im guessing that could be her biggest ever prize money haul from one event?
Am sure it is. The highest prize money purse at the Slams if you convert everything to dollars. Wimbledon would have been around $170k. Boulter has an impressive total of $533k for 2023.

I'm guessing Alex helps pay some of the bills as well.
Huge opportunity for Katie today.it will be tough but shes more than capable.
Where is her ranking heading towards post US OPEN atm? Would a win break the top 50?
Live rankings show her as WR50, with a win taking her to WR46 (oer and live.eu)
Yes. Might not hold onto top 50 if she loses but very probably will with a win.
Bronzetti, Burel and Minnen could still overtake her. But one of the latter two would have to get past Sabalenka. Bronzetti has Zheng in the third round and a win for her and a loss for Katie would be enough.
Think Bronzetti is the biggest threat to her breaking the Top 50 after the USO. Burel has to beat Sabalenka today, while Minnen has to a) beat Kasatkina, and then b) beat Sabalenka in the next round. Bronzetti still has a tough ask in beating Qinwen Zheng, but a lot more achievable than the other two.
Obviously Katie beating Stearns would make this all moot so let's just hope for that!
Burel ended up being comprehensively defeated (1-6 1-6) by Sabalenka, and Minnen has just lost 3-6 4-6 to Kasatkina. So only Bronzetti of the trio remains standing.

That result shows that Jodie's performance against Sabalenka was pretty good in the circumstances.
