Should be an interesting match up. I think I would prefer Joe and Rajeev to win, simply cos doubles is there thing, and Joe and Rajeev would therefore benefit more from winning. But let's see.
Neal and Wesley are close to tying up there match as well and moving through
Joe and Rajeev did not win
they didn't ! And my grammar above is atrocious, apologies to those who read it - their versus there, yuk!!
Seriously, slightly surprised but I guess some would say that it proves a good singles player will have the edge in doubles, and maybe that is true. Hope Cam and Rinky can build on this (Rinky proving his AO win earlier this season was not an aberration!)
Theres a long way to go but if Neal and Wes win Shanghai they will go to the top of the individual rankings. They have the same points but it looks like Wes would be 1 and Neal 2 on count back of some sort - not sure what the detail of that is, I recall previously Neal had the edge earlier this season on a count back formula so something must have changed? For now they are 3 and 4 respectively, a win needed to make it 1 and 2 .
Neal played a tournament with Lloyd Glasspool in Winston-Salem where they reached the final. This was actually putting him ahead of Wes until this week but Shanghai will kick that tournament to a non counter and Neal will be behind because of the extra tournament played. If Neal had won the final he would be still ahead.
If they won this tournament it would be nice if they used their common sense and put them as joint number one where they deserve to be. Im pretty sure they actually did that with the Bryan brothers before but in recent history they havent (I am guessing maybe Mike and Bob had a word at that time).

ah yes, i remember Winston Salem (everyone remembers Winston Salem, to paraphrase somebody famous). Youre right, it does seem that in reality there is no difference between them, I guess though that if Wes and Neal didnt play events together/split then the 1 and 2 distinction could be important for entries or seedings perhaps, and the rules are the rules....nonetheless, I agree!
Hopefully this doubles run will really help Cam with some confidence. Also with his game - I always see him as quite one dimensional and doubles would help him be more creative, I think.
It also generates an option for DC if Leon wants it - if Dan and Cam can both play doubles as a back up, you probably dont need Andy around if he isnt adding anything above Cam, Dan and Jack - realising Jack may always get injured - and if Dan and Cam can play doubles as options to Neal, it leaves Leon free to stick with Andy, maybe bring in Joe (post US Open, he needs to maintain form and hasnt been doing, tbf) or whatever route he feels he has open to him. Jamie, Lloyd and even Liam could get in the mix with a decent few weeks of form although none of them are putting their hands up just yet!
Great Match, well done Cam and Rinky. Didnt like, was it Gonzalez (?) behaviour at end though.
Well done lads ! What happened at the end?!
One of them quite violently hit the ground with his racquet, possible twice, and then barely managed a very grumpy handshake. it was much more aggressive than just a frustrated chucking of a racquet.
