Hollie played in the BJK Cup Juniors today and got one of the best (the best?) result of her young career:

Hollie Smart JWR 253 def. Ava Beck 102 6-3 6-4

She's got the makings of a very good clay courter, young Hollie

J100 Loughborough

Hollie was runner-up in the singles (losing to Dani Piani) and won the doubles title (with Ruby)

Great week and another rise.

Interested to see her progress next year.

Wonder with her clay court potential as you say coup droit whether shell do the South American swing in feb/march.

Hollie made a great showing in the doubles in the 2025 GB Nationals - winning both the 16U and the 18U titles

Not so great in singles

BUT she's now making BIG ripples in the adult pond

She had a wildcard into the Nottingham II W35

Came through qualis, beating Kat Barnes WR 758 and Abduraimova WR 890

And then beat Grammatikopoulou WR 553 in R1

And has just beaten Ranah Stoiber WR 549 6-4 2-6 4-3 ret.

Hollie is only 15, and has never had a MD win in adults before

Hollie (2009) is just outside the top-100 and quietly getting on with business

At the J500 in Mexico this week, she has made the QFs

She's beaten the JR 24, 6-2 6-3, and beaten the JR 32 in three sets

This is now Hollie's best ever counter (and still counting )

 Yes - I think she'll be about JR 91, at the moment (she has 60 points coming off at the start of December) 

But even if she loses against the 2nd seed today, she's also in for the J300 at Bradenton and the J500 in Florida (which are both on clay, her forté) 

(Obviously she'll be well inside the top-100 when the 2007-ers drop out on Jan 1st - there's about 23 2007-ers at the moment - but that doesn't count for top100 finishes this year benefits)

And add another 9 places to make JR 76

There are sixteen 2007-ers in front of her at the moment so she'll be JR 60 when they all drop off on Jan 1st

All her counters have come from the second half of 2025, too, (it's been an excellent 6 months, exactly what the Hollie fans have been expecting) so she has a free swing for the first half of next year, it's all upside

Would expect to see some more adult events too - she's still sitting on 9 points, I think, so only needs one more to get her ranking

I have been waiting for the Hollie breakthrough so glad its happened now.

I hope she does make it to the Aus open juniors. Would be great experience for her.
