Indoors vs Virtanen is not a kind draw for Liam. The Finn recently won all three of his matches in the Davis Cup as well as two challengers earlier in the year on the surface.

Great shame.  Would have been interesting to see how he performed against Thiem.

Diallo is a talent with a massive serve and did well as we all know on the grass this season. Surprised he isnt top 100 by now to be honest, on indoor hard courts, was always going to be a big ask for Arthur.

The boys draw a blank in Bratislava:

L32:  Otto Virtanen (FIN) WR 118 defeated (5) Liam Broady WR 104 by 7-6(5) 1-6 6-2  hmm

Sadly, wolf called it right.  cry

Tennis Abstract had predicted Liam to go down , their prediction was Liam was a 42% win chance - which feels pretty close to what actually transpired. WHen I saw it , i was surprised as I thought Liam would win, but Wolf indeed was accurate on this one

Liam a bit rusty maybe after the two-week layoff?
