Despite defeat, Liam has sneaked back into the Top 100 on the live rankings.

Great shame.  Would have been interesting to see how he performed against Thiem.

Interesting:  Diallo has now beaten Thiem by 6-1 4-6 7-6(5).  Perhaps Jon has a point.

Diallo beat Dan Evans at Surbiton - a great level, there was a lot of talk about him back in the Surbiton thread

Hes a very talented player, 6 foot 8. Just needs to bring it together. Hell make top 100 early next year and Ill tip him to make a slam run at Wimbledon or US Open to the second week. Marketable as well.

And in Montreal. And beat Liam in Surbiton also. Not done anything massive, but it will come soon.

Looks like Liam is secure in landing back at wr 100 in tomorrows rankings, good to see and hopefully he will get an FQR win in Stockholm today to celebrate.

This would give Britain 5 men in the Top 100. I believe the last time this happened was 16 January 1978:

Buster Mottram - 17

Mark Cox - 26

John Lloyd - 34

Robin Drysdale - 85

Richard Lewis - 93

Diallo took the title - Arthur ran him close as well so kudos to Arthur.

But watch out for Diallo folks. Up to 130 now and coming to a top 100 near you soon. Will be a threat at the AO, fast courts in Melbourne, right up his street .
