L32: (1) Taylor Fritz (USA) WR 8 vs Cameron Norrie WR 16

H2H 6-6 - 9 of them 3 setters

And also how in the hell is Cam not seeded at WR 16 if the top seed is WR 8 - I guess there is only one answer but holy smokes!

Yep, every player ranked from 8 to 17 is playing from the rankings at time of seeding, Cam the unlucky one. Hurkacz at 17, Shelton at 20 and cerundolo at 21 also. Guess they all want the 500 points for the race?

maybe some should have chased an easier shot at 250 back in Stockholm or Antwerp!

The r1 options for qualifiers include de Minaur, Shelton and Nishioka. And a Japanese wild card. Fingers crossed Jack lands
On the latter!

Plenty for Jack to reflect on and analyze there - what happened to that game? wink

Fingers crossed for the WC draw!

Wow, didn't see the match - but what a score

Jack lost, 4-6  7-6(4)  7-6(1)

Absolute heart-breaker but a great show of where he's at

Wow, that looks like some match, lasted 3 hours 5 mins as well. Not sure Jack has got any main tour events left, hes looking like hes in challengers for the rest of the season, unless he enters Metz or Sofia event in the final week. At the moment , just Bergamo in his schedule in the week of Paris. Feel like Id like to see him have a good run at a tour event but perhaps he just needs to win a challenger !

Cam is a set and a break down, looks like his poor run continues.

Havent seen enough of him to understand what has changed, always felt to me Cam needs a real weapon as opposed to out running his opponents but that may not be accurate.

I couldn't sleep and was delighted to see some tennis on.  I watched the 2nd set  - very decent standard. I saw the last 20 mins of the final set in catch up mode - Jack was clearly very tired and was grabbing at his hamstring.  I hope there's nothing serious wrong.
