Week 43 - ATP 500 - Erste Bank Open - Vienna, Austria (indoor hard)

There is a guy on twitter mouthing he hopes it is career ending and swearing at Dan (seems he bet on Tiafoe).

How long does a calf injury take to heal - Davis Cup in mind...

When I pulled my calf playing tennis I could not put any weight on it for a few days.

Probably back on court albeit very tentatively after 3/4 weeks. Sure Dan a little fitter than I was though!

So DC could be touch and go. Joe Salisbury needs to be on call

This is one case where, regardless of ranking, two top singles players, both top 20 ranked singles players, would always beat two average doubles players (maybe harsh but certainly not top in terms of rank or achievements). 3 and 0 in doubles is a beat of  a beat down, but favourites won, for sure.

Shame it wasnt Evo and Shelton against them, though!

These people truly are horrible. The comments some of the female players get in particular are disgusting, another problem the gambling industry needs to sort out.

It's truly awful but difficult to see what the gambling industry can do about such folk and their behavior on other platforms.

Yes very true Indy, its probably more Twitter, Facebook and Instagram that needs to sort it out. With the advancement in AI maybe some sort of block for such comments however I guess wed then be getting into censorship and control issues.

I'm confused - the guy should be grateful to Dan

If he'd bet on Tiafoe, and Dan carried on and won, he'd have lost his money

But with Dan retiring the guy gets his money back

What's his issue? What am I missing?

I was similarly confused, but put it down to my complete ignorance of what goes on in the world of internet betting, so assumed that it was some kind of obscure anomaly & opted not to comment.
