Billy took the first set 7-6, coming from behind. Digging in well.

Well done Billy - now at the stage where we expect him to win these matches, which is great, no longer the underdog at challenger level

Indeed, his consistency has improved so much. He is at live rank 234. Last year after withdrawals 235 got into the Aus Open Qualifying. 226 was the initial cut off. A few more wins this year should get him over the line and into his first slam qualifying by right.

Which would be awesome, lets hope that happens!

Live tennis keeps a record of $ won on tour during 2023, which is interesting:

Cam $2.1m

Dan $1.53m

Andy $981k

Jack $673k

Liam $409k

Jan $270k

Ryan $215k

Kyle $154k

Arthur $111k

George L $102k

Billy $94.6k

The point being that Billy hasnt really yet translated points into Dollars, largely I guess because he has accumalated points through Futures events still and lower level CHallengers. Whereas Kyle will have Wimbledon slam $ in that mix and so will Arthur. Getting into a slam qualies field and maybe a WImbledon wild card this year will really help Billy turn his career into some more money
