Aus Open qualies confirmed now for sure. If he makes the final its top 200 as well.
He has no points to defend until the end of Feb and 6 single digit counters which can be replaced if he carries on winning matches at Challenger level. So there's plenty of potential for increasing his ranking, and a strong rebuke for those of us who thought he'd never make the GB top 10!!! Anyone who had him in their predictions will be rubbing their hands in glee.

Ha ha! Just checked and I have him at GB no 10, at wr268, in my 2023 predictions. Looks like he will be higher than that now. Well done to Billy, going really well. Have followed him a good few years since talking to his Dad at a tournament in Derby that Billy's sister was playing in. Must be 5 years or so ago.

Liam has posted this today about the Bergamo Challenger.
"Free entry to Bergamo challenger last night. Over 3000 people showed up but only 2000 got in. Top work from the tourney organisation considering a lot of challengers are in front of about five people"
Kudos - the Italian and French challengers seem to be much more event like, with local interest being high, perhaps the nearest we get is the grass challenger at Ilkley. Many indoor events globally are played in front of empty stands. The WTA finals is played in front of empty stands!

I'll bet the thousand that didn't get in aren't praising the organisation!
Liam was well and truly beaten by Nakashima, 4 and 0. Ouch.
Nakashima, though, is talented and good to see him back, one of the more interesting US players trying to break through and had a few injury issues
Yes, looking at the score, but first set was 0/2 and 1/1 on break points. Then first game of second set was very long, Liam 40-0 up, was pegged back then a number (4 ?) deuces but may be more where both had game points before Liam was broken. Then it just ran away with Nakashima not giving anything away and keeping in all the rallies. Maybe if that first game had gone Liam's way the match could have turned round.

I saw Nakashima beat Shapovalov at Wimbledon last year, I congratulated him after and he shyly said 'thank you for your support' - nice and humble guy was the vibe I got. Surprised he's dropped down so much, he has a solid game. Has he been injured?
