Week 44 - ITF M25 - Sunderland, Great Britain (indoor hard)

Blockx will almost certainly take the title, hes playing well into challenger territory or even higher. Qualified for Antwerp ATP and is winning against higher ranked opponents regularly. One to watch for next year it would seem.

Im here today. Blockx looks a good prospect but the two of them were grunting so loud play was stopped on the other courts at times.

Very impressed with Hamish Stewart, although Im not sure what Coxs problem is - seems to be moaning at the umpire every other point. Touch embarrassing.

Well done Hamish, another good week for him; I am guessing Dan is moaning cos a younger, lower ranked player had his number and, being honest, Dan's comeback over the past 12-18 months has stalled at this ranking level and doesnt really feel like he is making the progress higher that he wants...

 Like the reports, Jaffa !

I'm not there (or watching livestream) but I've watched Dan Cox quite a lot of times, and sat next to him at lunch once. I respect what he's been through and that he's still out there, trying hard, he's a fighter. But, Lord above, he certainly can be a real moaning Minnie at times - rather a lot of whinging - even at lunch, not just on the court

I think Dan has made a valiant attempt to get back into the top 250, Im sure that was his plan but I wonder now if stalling at around 400 and with most of his points to defend early next year if he will continue. Hope so however is likely to be the first casualty to fall out the top 500 next year. He should really be beating players he has lost to recently.

im not surprised after what I saw today. His mum was there watching and I think even she was a touch embarrassed.

They of course played in Glasgow last week with Blockx winning 6 and 3. Be interesting to see who has learnt the most!

Good start for Hamish, a break at 4-2 up.

Hamish had so many chances to move and close out that set, but he couldn't quite manage it and the young Belgian just wouldn't go away and ended up winning it 7-5

I see that young Blockx beat his compatriot, Tibo Colson, in three sets (4-6 6-2 6-4) to claim his second successive M25 title.
