Week 44 - ITF M25 - Edmonton, AB, Canada (indoor hard)

I see that Broom had 4 MPs in the second set. He was 5-3* 40-0* and *5-4 *40-30 up.

Hussey has now gone a break up in the third ( 2 breaks to 1 )

Hussey 2-6 7-5 *4-2 Broom

SF:  (5) Giles Hussey WR 536 defeated (2) Charles Broom WR 355 by 2-6 7-5 6-2

That should make Bob's day.  Charlie served for the match at 5-4 in the second.  Giles will probably go & lose to whichever Canadian (Boulais (6) or Draxl (4)) he faces in the final now.

Giles has given a walkover in the doubles final, hopefully just saving himself for singles tomorrow

The ITF site says that it's his pair that have been given a walkover. So maybe Boulais saving himself for the singles final.

So apparently we have a doubles

Ok, cool - sofascore and TNNS agree with the ITF but the LiveTennis.eu site shows Giles and partner as the ones giving the walkover, which is where i took the info from. Hopefully the others are correct!

As per the ITF:

Final:  Vasilios Caripi (RSA) & Giles Hussey CR 2163 (1744+419) "defeated" (3) Justin Boulais & Osgar O'Hoisin (CAN/IRL) CR 1455 (778+677) by a walkover

so Giles & Vasilios s!  biggrin

Makes perfect sense and going forward if he wants to push on like Billy then sack it off altogether. Always pick it back up if he doesnt make it.

So Giles doubles title confirmed in the ITF titles list, going for his first singles title at M25 level this evening - good luck Giles!

Giles is being held up. He was 4-1* up in the second set and had a point to go *5-1. He was broken back but has again just missed out on a couple of MPs at 5-4*

6-3 *5-5
