Has Billy ever played the main draw of an atp event before?

No JonH posted in the Billy Harris individual thread that he was the 10th highest not to play a main draw. I believe this might be his only 2nd qualifying event after Queens This year.

In which case then double congratulations. Good milestone to tick off, and done without a wildcard as well.

Well done Billy indeed another true grafter. I believe this will be his second highest pay day after Wimbledon as well. A sign of things to come for the earnings he will make in 2024 now if he stays injury free. Almost certain to be in Slam qualies through next year.

Draw options seem to be Fucsovics or Ofner (both seeded) or there is a qualifier v qualifier match.

Billy gets the Q-Q spot. Plays Marc-Andrea Huesler in round 1. Ranked 200.

Billy mixing it with the big boys now. Can't think of anyone who deserves it more. Talk about hard work and graft, this guy has it in spades.

Great news.  Come on Billy.  A first ever ATP Main Tour victory is a genuine possibility.  Now go and take it.

As a couple of asides, surely this has to be his biggest pay day too ? 6k euros for 1st round MD. As Billy has never won a challenger, I doubt he has earned more in a week, with the possible exception of an QWC at Wimbledon ?

And a 1st round win here would put him on 306 points. Player WR200 is on 307 points. Touching distance, albeit with a few others in a position to improve their tally too.

Just to ditto what everyone has been saying above - Billy's a real inspiration to other players, showing what is possible, with perserverance.

(And makes me even more cross at Andrew Castle's awful, belittling commentary about him at Wimbledon qualis).
