It started during Covid when tennis was stopped and events like this and battle of the Brits started or UKPL. Its always had a good line up and innovative approach to scoring, publicity, etc.its endured though and gone into a an exhibition circuit with points race system/ theres been two events this year and another in Seoul in early December and then this just before Xmas. this is the grand final or world championship- Monfils is in, Ruud also and 8 players in total will qualify including 2 wildcards - they may well be Brits and Id imagine theyd like home country players - Jack would fit well and Evo but maybe theyll try and get Cam or Andy as big names? No idea.
it feels in the vein of tie break tens- a pure exhibition event with a veneer of seriousness, and why not ? If it attracts fans and entertains thats good.
There have already been posts about this event, billed as the "Ultimate Tennis Showdown", in other forums on this board, including a link to a Metro article I posted on Jack Draper's individual thread a couple of days ago which explains why he's chosen "The Power" as his nickname. Since it's a men's event being held in London & Jack, "one of our own", is involved (& doing quite well, by all accounts ), this forum seemed the obvious one in which to give it a home.
This article by Matt Majendie in yesterday's Standard summarises the ground rules. The event is apparently Patrick Mouratoglou's brainchild & he is very complimentary about Jack in the article, but I can't help wondering whether it's his way of (re)ingratiating himself with the international tennis fraternity.

Its part of a series of events, this is the third one and is the finals of the series. One had been planned in Seoul a couple of weeks back but got cancelled .
They started in Covid and were held similar to battle of the Brits , these ones held in Nice. Theyve morphed into these events since; possibly more like to the tie break tens that took place a few years back, in terms of razzmatazz etc
Not seen much about this event, but popped op on FB yesterday with news on Jack The Power Draper - seems they all have Superhero names
Live coverage of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown Grand Final will be available on TNT Sports - stream on Discovery+ or watch on Sky, EETV or Virgin Media. You can also watch live on Tennis Channel
