And GB duly won 2-0. Into the final - France lead Germany 1-0 in the other semi. Either opponent, we will be firm favourites to win and move into the World Cup in May, joining the men, women and junior teams.

Greg won the opening singles 0 and 2; Andy is 4-0 up in the opening set of the first string singles.

Looks like GB will qualify for the finals in 6 or so weeks time, and join our other three teams.

With Andy in the team, we have a real chance in those finals of getting a medal in quad.NL will be clear favourites and then Chile, Japan, Israel and ourselves will be among those in the mix.

We stand a chance of a medal in all 4 disciplines.

Very excitingly, Alfie has gone back to world number one, not sure where that came from, maybe last weeks points didnt come on until this week.

My guess would be points from last year's Cajun Classic (which Oda won) dropping off.

My guess would be points from last year's Cajun Classic (which Oda won) dropping off.

Most certainly, just seemed a week later than I expected as it finished the Sunday before - do wheelchair events have a weeks delay in points being added, like other ITF events on the mens and womens tours?

The Cajun Classic was a week later in 2023 so indeed it could be Oda's 2023 title points coming off on their anniversary without a delay ( Alfie exited at the QF in 2023 ).

Wheelchair tour action moves to Asia now, with the series 2 event in Busan, Korea, and then the series 1 event in Daegu, Korea. It then moves onto Seoul for the Korean Open (also series 1) and then Japan for the super series Japan Open.

Not sure who is playing all the events, but Busan started today and Lucy Shuker and Cornelia Oosthuizen are playing the womens events, Lucy is seeded 4th.

Draws not yet up on the ITF site, just going by the order of play. So more names may turn up from GB this week or in later weeks of the series.

none of the top Brits, ie Alfie, Gordon and Andy are playing in this first event in mens or quad action, although there are a couple of top 10 players in each draw. Lucy has world number 2, Kamiji, from Japan, heading the womens field.

Thanks to Lambda and TA, managed to access the draws on the ITF; as suspected, we just have Lucy and Cornelia in Busan Series 2 event, playing singles and presumably they will be partners in doubles - Lucy has played with others before in doubles but suspect her and Cornelia are planning on playing the Paralympics as a pair and thus bonding early.

Lucy won her singles in Busan and into the last 8; Cornelia went out.

In doubles, Lucy is in fact top seed and partnering Kamiji, the Japanese WR # 2. Cornelia is playing with a Moroccan girl; I got that assumption wrong re Lucy and Cornelia playing together!

Lucy was beaten in the last 8 (she was seeded 4th and lost 1 and 1 to the 5th seed); into semis in doubles though but , really, she and her partner should win that event.

Well done Lucy who, as top seed with WR2, Kamiji, won the womens doubles title in Busan. Dropped 6 games in the final.

Next the tour moves onto the Daegu Open, also in Korea, which is a higher level Series 1 event (like a 500 in relative stature).
