For those wondering where Liam is he posted this on his Twitter account.
Sad to say I have had to withdraw from The AO. I have two bone stresses in my ankle that got worse in Hong Kong until I felt I couldn't move properly on court in my last match. When I arrived in Melbourne I got an MRI which confirmed what the pain was. If I continue to play there's a high chance they could become fractures and instead of a month out it could be
3. Although tempting to play injured and take full prize money I felt it wasn't right when other competitors have a better chance fully fit.
Special thank you also to the AO and ATP for still giving me the full Travel Grant. Not mandatory but given to help me out with costs of the trip.

Typical of Liam to have the principals not to participate just for the money. He really is a good guy.

It's also really decent of him to express his gratitude for being given the travel grant to help with his expenses. Unwelcome news.
For info qualifying matches are being shown on discovery+ for those that can. Matches are individually designated so should be easy to find - Ryan and Billy on overnight
Bittersweet, but welcome back to the top 100 Liam. Get better soon. A lot of love on Twitter for Liam, especially from Lokoli, the player who benefited from Liam's withdrawal.
As it's a dead quiet day today, due to weather, just pointing out the 'big scandal' in tennis in a lot of Aussie papers this week has been the 'shock defection' (Canberra Times) of Charlie Camus - Australia's top junior, currently #17 - to France
Charlie is very high profile, been with Lleyton Hewitt a lot, won their Junior Sportsman of the year (or something like that), has been connected with the adult Davis Cup team (as well as playing for the Junior one, of course)
Supposedly the FFT gave him a better offer.......
Sorry to put this in adults - I'll put it in juniors other stuff too - but it's getting a lot of focus, especially in the downtime when there's no tennis.....
