His ranking's suffered a bit since last October (CH = 1927 on the 21st), but he's just reached his first ITF M15 final in Lannion (Brittany) & is still only 17!
That CH 1927 and current WR 2017 stem simply from the same single ranking point the lad achieved with a R2 in his 4th ever senior tournament last September and he'd only played a couple more before this current great week.
The final in itself will move him up from 1 to 9 points on Monday week and into the 1100s in the rankings. If he wins the title, so then a total of 16 points, that will take him comfortably into the 900s.
And he did indeed win the title!
He has just won his second senior title, the M15 in Lakewood, California, where he had a pretty good week, reaching the semi-final in the doubles with his American partner, Noah Johnston: they beat the third seeds in the first round, but lost out to the more highly ranked Canadian pair, Arseneault (Mikaël) & Gurenko.
