It goes back to the point I made before. Why make it a poll when you only need those who declare their prediction and you then keep the record yourself, you would only miss the anonymouses and they don't count for your overall leaderboard?

I understand the point - I think the poll makes it more visible and , I feel, more likely that people will take part. But I have no evidence on that. It seems the poll makes it more interesting, is my instinct based on nothing at all, really! Haha

I guess what youre asking is if the poll is effectively a waste of time.

im always open to formative feedback, be interested if anyone else has a view.

I really enjoy the poll. Even when I get it totally wrong, as you often do when you start out (heart over head!). It is tricky though but that is the challenge. I dont mind it as it is TBH. I just dont think anonymous voters should be counted. They could have entered under another name, two bites of the cherry!

Yeah, agree and I take the anonymous folks out of the actual listing i do. Sadly I cant edit the actual poll itself to take votes out or see who has actually voted what. Sadly!

Scrapping the poll does at least take out the element of you needing to guess what the parameters are, so I thought it would be for your benefit. It maybe acts as a guide for some, but that the French was so completely out with what the final figure turned out to be made it more a hindrance.

Absolutely and I can see pro's and con's, but those points are definitely noted.

Keen to get others views as putting up the poll is simply a preference -a creating interest and visibility thing as mentioned - but keen to see if there are any other views out there, and thanks to you, Brendan, and Var for commenting!

Don't change it - I like it as it stands. The poll is a good visual indication of how people are thinking, even if you can't see it until after you have voted.

Thanks TA. Thats what I thought as well. You articulated it better than me, though!

Im going to delay entries for the 2025 version of this until the wild card competition entry is done and dusted. So itll be later in the week, and only 10 days or so to enter. Which should be plenty, but just wanted to pre warn.

Over singles and doubles, maybe most of the Brits who are likely to be in Wimbledon MD action haven't yet competed on grass this year, and certainly most of these surely always likely to get most of our wins.

I'm not sure that these players' grass courts capability for this year can yet be doubted by association?

For now, I tend to look at 3 of the last 4 Wimbledons being 40 or more, and what you have pointed to about smashing it over the first 2 Slams compared to other years since 2019

Things to be considered or not? And who knows what I might truly be thinking about the prospects

And, as has been said, folk can ( and should ) specify any selections outside the general range set down.

Anyway, I'll probably leave it there re my thoughts on the range.

Maybe the answer is 27.5 to 47.5?! Split the difference !?!

How about 17 single number categories 49 down to 33, then 2 groups  below that, 32 to 27 and below 26, then 1 group above, 50+.

That might well work. And as Indy mentions, folk are asked / required to state their specific number anyway. thanks Miriam, and Indy.

Going to go with something very close to this proposed by Miriam.
