 Ah ok, didnt read it that closely to be honest! 

 Read it properly now, haha. United Cup doesnt bother me, its not important really - do they still have ranking points? - bit DC is a blow as Japan away will be tough. I guess team doesnt need picking just now. 

also - only just realised Alex Ward is our United Cup captain. Which is fine, but I thought in past years the event insisted on big name players in the captains space?

Lys doesn't have a doubles ranking having not played doubles for 3 years and Schmiedlova has a doubles ranking of 1052. They must be a long way down the alt list and unlikely to get in on site with their singles rankings either.
