Bit off topic, but Sonays just asked Jodie if she would like to play doubles with her in 2025. Would be a good team for the BJK potentially.

Jodies doubles, when she plays, seems pretty impressive. Sonay has no doubles activity since October 2022 and a CH of WR 559 so who knows the potential.

Wonder what's the motivation here for Sonay. She doesn't exactly overplay in singles and seems to play a more limited focussed amount. I guess she must feel that it could help her overall.

I don't think she was being serious. Sonay doesn't need to ask Jodie as a public comment on one of Jodie's social media posts. More likely an in-joke.

Re Emma , what a pity. I hope not too serious and in particular that she makes the Aus Open. But even then I would be very concerned with no warm-up. Apparently she will definitely not  compete next week either but will now travel to Melbourne to try to be ready.

When she got out and played, 2024 served as a reminder of what talent she has and potential to get better. I just really wish that she manages a solid run of tournaments fairly soon.

Given Jodie's response I think it might have been a joke?

Looks as though she only had 90 minutes notice so that could be a factor!!!

there's certainly some 'here we go again .. ' into a major with hardly any quality preparation. Even in the cup matches she played no more than adequate tennis. Whatever the outcome from Melbourne her team need to get her match fit .. build her stamina through match time ..

Jodie had three break points in a long game at 4-4*, then two more at 5-5*

Missed them all and lost the set 5-7
