Anton off to a real flying start this year:

QF:  (WC) Anton Matusevich WR 461 defeated (LL) Norbert Gombos (SVK) WR 433 by 4-6 6-4 6-3  biggrin

And Henry joins Anton in the semis:

QF:  (WC) Henry Searle WR 513 defeated (Q) Lukas Pokorny (SVK) WR 514 by 2 & 4  smile

The organisers could hardly have hoped for better!

out of interest, are there any crowds for this event (or spectators, crowds might give the wrong impression?!)

Was thinking of going to Nottingham tomorrow which is a couple of hours from where I live. Does anyone know if entry for public is open to watch matches?

Yes - it is open to the public, but I suspect there is an entry fee to watch.

It was free at one stage - probably 10 years ago, but I know the Shrewsbury ITF and the Manchester and Ilkley challengers charge for entry.

Good to see Anton pushing on.
So much promise at 14, but never really rose up the rankings on the pro circuit

Didn't he make the FQR at Wimbledon years ago? I thought he'd really push on quickly from there, but he has mostly fallen back since. Hope he can push on up the rankings in 2025 - good week so far.

Searle is up 6-2 3-0 (double break) and very good value. Much stronger and more consistent than he was last year.

From Henrys social media posts over the past month or so he was really putting the work in over the off season. Seems to be just what was need.

Hes contrived to lose the second set on a tie break. Lost control after being dominant and a little desperate at the end. Not feeling positive about the third set.
