British Open draw is out:

Quad -

Andy has a tough opener against Israeli Guy Sasson - Sasson has a 4-0 H2H and only lost one set;

Greg Slade plays WC Oliver Cox. 8 player field in quad singles

Womens -

Cornelia plays China's 4th seed, Wang.

Lucy plays Japanese Takamuro (plays winner of Wang and Cornelia in QF, if she makes it- Takamuro has a 4-2 H2H and won the last 4);

Ruby Bishop plays Chilean Cabrillana. All 3 look longshots for the Brits, sadly. 16 player field

Mens -

Alfie plays Tom Egberink from the NL (Alfie is top seed) - tough for an opening round match, but Alfie has won the last few in straigh sets in their H2H;

Gordon is seeded 4th and plays WC entry from Pakistan, Abassi.

Dahnon Ward plays Sergie Lysov, of Isreal - this could be a good match up, they have played twice, both three set matches and 1-1 H2H;

Ben Bartram plays American, Casey Ratzlaff, The American is highr ranked (8 v 22) but they have had tight matches and Ben won the last. Possible upset? Finally,

Andrew Penney plays 2nd seed de la Puente - hard to see anything from that one

 Finishing todays action off:

Womens singles and Lucy Shuker is the only one to progress to the last 8, with a really good win over her Japanese opponent. Well done Lucy and she starts to move ahead in the GB #1 battle now, a little at least. Plays Chinese seeded player , Wang, next.

Mens singles - Alfie won a tough 3 setter, Gordon won easily as expected and Dahnon Ward did really well to upset the israeli, Lysov, and plays Gordon next. Ben Bartram is in action still, up a set over Ratzlaff, another good performance so far.

Alfie was really in trouble today. Was pulled back from 4-1 to 4-4 in the final set and chatting away with his coach, but did well to pull through.

Ben Bartram rounded it off with a good win over Ratzlaff; we ended up with 4 men onto mens last 8.

Mens singles - Alfie won in straight sets and Gordon beat Dahnon in a closer than expected 3 setter; Ben Bartram lost to Fernandez

Semis are therefore Alfie v Gordon and Fernandez v de la Puente.

Alfie easily beat Gordon to reach the final - faces old rival Fernandez there. Alfie and Gordon won their doubles semi. Play de la puente and Spaargaren in that.

Congrats to Alfie, who wins the British Open with a hard fought 3 set win over Gustavo Fernandez - Alfie was down the whole match, losing the first set, down a break in the final set and pulled it back from 2-4 to win 6-4.

Wimbledon next week when Tokito Oda joins the fray.

And Alfie and Gordon won the doubles title very easily over Spaargaren and de la Puente, lost just 2 games. Must be very heavy favourite for Wimbledon and a third slam of the year.

Mens and womens singles first round tomorrow, using court 3, 14, 15, 17.

Court 3 is the main court, obviously, and Alfie, Gordon and Lucy have been allocated to that one. Dahnon, Ben and Cornelia are on 14.

Solid win that for Alfie. Dahnon Ward was sent packing equally easily by Martin de la Puente, however, although no surprise.

Gordon Reid is now on court, following Aflie, and Ben Bartram also about to start against Tokito Oda.

Gordon should win, could be 3 sets - Ben is likely to fall in 2.

The womens singles follow later.
