Looks like a humdinger of a final in the wheelchair singles. 10-10 in final set tb!
Edit. Which Oda takes 13-11. Well done to him!

Thats a shame! Id have loved Fernandez to win it. Great competition between the top 4 now, Alfie needs to watch out as second place may be on the line next year.
As they battle to see who can end up the season as British number one, Lucy Shuker and Cornelia Oosthuizen are seeded 1 and 2 in this weeks Birmingham Classic in Toronto. Ruby Bishop and Abbie Breakwell are also in an 8 player womens field. This is a series 3 level event.
Cornelia won this title last year, whereas Lucy didnt play; Cornelia therefore has a lot more to defend and really needs the title if she is to keep the pressure on Lucy.
Andrew Penney is seeded two in the mens.

Lucy and Cornelia both got through and are into the Toronto Classic Final. It is only a series 3 event, both have won at this level in the past, but with the British number one spot pretty close, a title for Cornelia would keep her in touch, a Lucy title would almost certainly tie up that spot for herself.
Lucy has a 3-1 career record over Cornelia, winning their last match in Houston in April in straight sets.
Lucy and Cornelia played a match today befitting the top 2 in the British game. Lucy came out top with a 3-6 7-6 (8) 6-2 win. Congrats to her for that title.
Ill need to see the ranking points on Monday but it feels like Lucy is certainly going to end the season as number one now. Ill be able to judge better when I see the points Monday.
Well, Lucy may have put herself in a strong place, but Cornelia isnt giving up. Shes flown from Canada to France and is in the 12 player draw in France for the Series 2 Toyota Trophy. Round one, she plays Zoe Maras of France, who she has a 9-2 head to head record against.
No other Brits playing.
The race for top womens player stays alive for now, at least.
A reminder of the remaining main events this season:
Sep 23-27 Sardinia Open Series 1
Sep 27-29 Japan Open (mens) Series 1
Sep 30 - Oct 5 - French Riviera Open Super Series
Oct 7-10 Manacor, Mallorca, Open Series 1
Oct 17-19 Japan Open (womens) Series 1
Oct 21-25 Open du Loiret Series 2
Oct 31- Nov 2 Paris Masters Series 1
November tbd - ITF NEC Masters Finals (last season it was 11-17 Nov, presumably similar this year although a venue is yet to be announced).
The next event up is the series 1 Sardinia Open, starting Tuesday. One or two of the bigger names may play in this and then the following Super Series event in South of France, although Oda and the other Japanese players may head to their home open in Tokyo.
The Masters dates still arent announced, I seem to recall they were quite last last season as well
Last season, the field for the Masters was announced October 3rd. I am not sure if this year they will do it so early, the French Riviera Super Series ends Oct 5th, and then there are several series 1 events to come; the Masters also doesnt have a venue or date announced at this stage.
I thought it was late last season, for announcing the venue, but given there are more events in the season back end this year, maybe they are still searching for the right time to hold it.
