Oh wow, we have an overnight champion



Andy Lapthorne, with Dutch partner Sam Schroder, takes the quad doubles title, retaining his title from last year. Seeded two they beat their top seeded opponents, Sasson and Vink, 1 and 4.

Thats a great win and many congratulations to Andy and Sam!

And a second slam win of the day as Alfie and Gordon retain their AO mens wheelchair doubles title with a 2 and 4 win in the final

The mens singles final will be tomorrow, schedule yet to be released. Alfie v Oda should be a real battle.

All 3 finals contain top versus second seed match ups.

As the BBC say, Alfie and Gordon take their 6th straight AO title, and 22nd Slam doubles title as a pair.

Andy wins his 2nd consecutive AO title, 3rd in 4 years, and 8th overall at the AO - and 16th slam doubles title of his career.

Alfies singles final is third on court (KIA Arena) after the quad and womens singles finals. Estimated as around 3.20 am - suspect it will be a little later as the matches at this level have the chance to be long battles.

If youre not sure about wheelchair tennis, this point shows what it can be like. Dont compare it to able bodied tennis - its different, but no less exciting or spectacular and athletic to watch.

Alfie didnt lose a set, and only 20 games, across his 4 matches to win this event. Really impressive work - beat Houdet, Spaargaren, Fernandez and Oda to do that. The world ranked 9, 7, 4, 1 respectively.
