A bit like Indian Wells and Miami, the wheelchair tour has two big American events back to back: the Series 1 level Georgia Open in Rome, Ga. and then the Super Series Cajun Classic, which is in Baton Rouge.
The Georgia Open starts today and British entries are:
Mens singles - no one!! (Oda and Alfie as well as some other top players, like Gordon Reid are giving this a miss - not sure yet re Baton Rouge next week)
Womens singles - a few Brits entered here - Lucy Shuker is playing and plays fellow Brit Martha Harris. Cornelia Oosthuizen and Ruby Bishop also play in a 16 player singles draw
Quad singles - Andy Lapthorne is here and seeded 3 in a 14 player field.
Doubles draws will probably be released tomorrow, the same players will be in that.

Good luck to all.
Realistically, I only expect one of our women's players to make it through and that would be Lucy in an all British opener; Ruby and Cornelia both have opponents ranked well above them.
In the men's, Andy is playing Robert Shaw; Andy is seeded 3, ranked 5; the Canadian, Shaw, is ranked 7. Andy is actually 10-0 H2H v Shaw, but a lot of their matches have ended in retirements for some reason, one way or the other, a lot more than one would expect (4 out of 14, with those 10 completed)
In todays quarterfinals in Rome, Ga. Andy won over Heath Davidson, in straight sets, whilst Lucy lost in straight sets.
Andy and Heath had a close 12-10 career head to head before today and Heath beat Andy 3 times to 1 in 2024, so thats a good win. In the semis, though, he plays top seeded Israeli, Guy Sasson. Sasson has won all 3 past meetings in 2 sets, one in Melbourne earlier this year and in the final here last year, when Andy took just one game.
Many congrats to Gordon Reid, he is the new world number one in mens wheelchair doubles. Hes moved just ahead of Alfie Hewett as points came off from last year. Alfie is still number 2.
Theres only 6 points difference in over 5000 points each, but number one is still number one!
The 2025 Cajun Classic will feature 21 top International Tennis Federation (ITF) stars, including: Eight of the top-10 men: ITF World #2 Alfie Hewett of Great Britain; #3 Martin de la Puente of Spain; #4 Gustavo Fernandez of Argentina; #5 Gordon Reid of Great Britain; #7 Ruben Spaargaren of the Netherlands; #8 Stephane Houdet of France; #9 Miki Takuya of Japan; and #10 Daniel Caverzaschi of Spain. Five of the top-10 women: ITF World #3 Aniek van Koot of the Netherlands; #7 Angelica Bernal of Colombia; #8 Zhenzhen Zhu of the People's Republic of China; #9 Lizzy de Greef of the Netherlands; and #10 Kgothatso Montjane of the Republic of South Africa, , as well as Lucy and Cornelia. Eight of the top-10 quads: ITF World #1 Niels Vink of the Netherlands; #2 Sam Schroder of the Netherlands; #4 Ahmet Kaplan of Turkey; #5 Andy Lapthorne of Great Britain; #6 Franciso Cayulef
So, Alfie should be top seed and Gordon top 4. Andy will also be in top 4 seeds in the quad singles.

Cajun Classic day one is done and here is the latest:
Mens singles - Alfie had a bye and his round 2 opponent will be Brayan Tapia of Chile, who is ranked 44. Alfie should win comfortably. They have played twice before, with Alfie winning 0 and 0 and 1 and 1.
Gordon also had a bye, and has a tough match now with Joachim Gerard. Their H2H is 21-17 to Gordon and he beat Gerard in 3 tough sets in the AO in January. Gerard is ranked 12 currently.
Womens singles - Lucy lost her opener to Zhu, 2 and 4. No surprise, Zhu is seeded 3 here and has a 12-4 H2H over Lucy. Cornelia plays 4th seed Montjane later today, they have only played once before in 2022, but Montjane is clear favourite.
Quad singles - Andy won his opener over Finn Broadbent and plays another Aussie, Heath Davidson next. Their H2H is 13-10 to Andy, they played last week in Georgia Open and Andy won in straight sets. Andy is probably favourite today also
In doubles, play hasnt started - Alfie and Gordon are top seeds in mens (11 pair field), Lucy is top seed in womens (8 player field) with Dutch partner van Koot, and Cornelia plays with French player, Zoe Maras; in quads (7 pairs), Andy is top seed with Sam Schroder, who he also won the AO with.
In the quad singles, Andy progresses into the last 4, with a straight sets win over Heath Davidson. Next up is top seed and world numbers one, Niels Vink of the Netherlands.
Alfie and Gordon are in action currently in their mens singles last 8 matches
In mens singles, Alfie won in straight sets, whilst Gordon won a 3 set 3 1/2 hour match over Houdet. Both into the semis.
In those semis, Alfie plays Gustavo Fernandez, Gordon plays Martin de la Puente. Alfie and Fernandez have played 3 times already this season, Alfie is 2-1 up although one was a retirement by the Argentina player. All were semis as well and Alfie won the last one at the AO.
Gordon and de la Puente also played earlier this year in a warm up for the AO, also in Melbourne, with the Spaniard winning comfortably.
In doubles, Lucy and Aniek Van Koot and Andy and Sam Schroder professed to their respective finals. Alfie and Gordon are playing currently in their quarterfinal
