I'd like it to be Neal & Henry. Be a pity if Henry isn't available / picked.

FWIW, Henry and Harri plan to be in Dallas currently that weekend - from Harris blog

3.2. Dallas ATP500 / Henry Patten
17.2. Doha ATP500 / Henry Patten
24.2. Dubai ATP500 / Henry Patten
5.3. Indian Wells ATP1000 / Henry Patten
19.3. Miami ATP1000 / Henry Patten

However, Lloyd and Julian are also entered into Montepelier, albeit presumably anyone can change at this stage if they are selected for DC.

Montpellier is the only ATP tour tournament taking place in week 5. Dallas ( and Rotterdam ) are week 6. Not to say that Henry & Harri might not be in Dallas that previous weekend..

Sorry, realise Dallas is the following week, 6, just saying it is the next week and a distance away. Anyway, doesnt matter, no point picking it apart, it will be what it is. Let's see

Nominations deadline is 10days prior to first day of play for 'play off' matches according to rules. So that's tomorrow I think..
Changes to this can be made however to limited extent upto day before I think.

Noms deadline for the playoffs (10 days) are different from the qualifiers (28 days). For Qualifiers up to 3 changes can be made up until one hour before the draw.

What teams will leave it that late though? We a few thousand miles from Japan, so clearly our team will be selected well in advance? Or should be. Unless you take a team of 8 over there and tell 3 to clear off at the last minute

Yes agreed. I think it's more likely that they'll pick one of the doubles players competing in Melbourne who will fly on to Japan. I still find it hard to imagine that Patten wouldn't be picked.

Patten is unplayable at times, his wingspan and service returns awesome.

Lloyd and Julian out of Montpellier I see; with Julian definitely still in Melbourne - he congratulated Harri and Henry when they won the semi - that must mean they are heading to Japan, surely?

This is confusing. Skupski already selected so the assumption must be that Patten will partner him, RH & LH combo seemed effective and Patten the form player. Perhaps Cash & Glasspool could be hitting partners and even travel to Japan with the squad, unnamed at this point. It does look like Draper won't be fit and it would be a big risk anyway. After Flushing Meadows, Draper was poor in Manchester and Smith would only want an 100% Draper if he is to sacrifice a dubs player and potential partnership. I'd be amazed if Cash, Glasspool or both are selected ahead and Skupski dropped.

LPats on this board ( I think Henry's cousin or brother, not sure which?!) thinks Henry wont be playing DC, you may have seen the posts) but it isnt certain - that was the pre AO thinking apparently, whether it has changed, he wasnt sure.

And with Lloyd and Julian in Melbourne still, they are clearly in the running/thinking.

Suspect Leon is still finalising things!

Cam and Jake and Billy look certainties for the squad at least, so only a couple of unknowns!
