Wasnt at all clear what happened but looked to me like the Aussies were the better team and deserved to win!
Archie is a high 9 UTR player, and they were the better team. I think the complaint was that the umpire pointed her finger instead of the in sign. So Eva left the next ball despite having a play on it. But in reality, Eva had already decided it was out and was not good enough to deal with the short, wide ball that came back anyway.
Dom went way down in the first set against Ollie, clawed it back, and won 7-5 6-0. He was probably tight and nervous.
Anna was tight in her match. Eva's ball 20 inches out, called in, contributed to her losing her first service game. Anna was not hitting through the ball and anticipating the ball that well, but she did enough to win the first set 6-3. The same applied at the start of set two. With the added bit of bad luck, Anna found herself 2-0 down. Anna freed up enough after that to win the next six games to win 6-3 6-2.
The mixed doubles final is the next match on court one, against the Oz pair that won that contentious match against the French yesterday.
I have found out why Anna is off, she has a sickness bug and has been sick.
They still won the mixed doubles final 6-1 6-0. A hat full of gold for GB. Four for Dom, two for Anna and two for Fab. Plus two more silvers and two bronze medals.

Congratulations to Anna, Dom, Fab and the whole team for a brilliant championships!
Especially well done to Anna for her success when poorly. Hope she feels better soon (and the journey home isn't too difficult for her when poorly.)
Thanks, it was a great week for them.
Anna will be ok. She seemed to suffer most when she was under physical and mental stress. She has a lot of sitting down to do on the flights to Poland, Heathrow, and Edinburgh. She flies from Kazakhstan at 5:45 am our time tomorrow and should get home a little after midnight tomorrow. Hopefully, they won't miss any connections this time.
