Week 4 - ITF W35 Esch/Alzette, Luxembourg - Indoor Hard

That serve looks to be going well again today. 7 aces, 2 DFs, not broken.

Emily takes the first set 6-3

A great hold from 0-40. 2-4 to 4-4

A real 50:50 match

But the other woman was a little braver at the key 30-30 point in the last game

Emily fought really well but just held back a little

Bit of an explosion of emotions for Em at the end, especially given she is normally outwardly so zen... Shouted at the baseline judge, hit the ball into the back board, refused to shake the umpire's hand I think and then some racket hitting on the floor.

However, she should be proud of being the only player to push Friedsam this week at all.

Looks as if her serve went well off the boil after that first set, with the stats showing that it finished on 7 aces, 7 DFs.

However else her game was going, that must have had a big effect.

I saw one line call that Emily was furious about and I think she was right

But I saw another that she was equally furious about (and was a more important point) and actually, I think the umpire was right

(although the camera isn't perfectly placed, to be fair, but all the same)

Swings and roundabouts - there was a disputed call yesterday on one of Emily's serves and she got the point.
