RE: Week 4 - ITF W35 Sunderland, Great Britain - Indoor Hard

I wouldn't rule out some unexpected moves to US college from our top juniors over the coming years. It is becoming much more financially attractive with a heap of 18 to 21 year olds in the 250 to 600 range starting at college this month on deals rumoured to be up to $100k + free coaching, physio, education, etc as changes to the financial landscape for college athletes come in over the next couple of years. And the LTA seem to be finally be seeing US College as a legitimate pathway for women for everyone except the very best.

If that's what they're getting (ie the 'salary' on top) , they'd be a fool to say no

Millie is in a tight 3 setter

My stream is buffering a bit but Yara seems a little flat-footed, under pressure from Millie's balls, and Millie has just broken for *5-4 in the third

Glad you have been watching - the ITF scoreboard is unclear and I thought Millie had lost. But the draw has now been updated.

SF:- Amelia Rajecki (GBR) WR541 def Yara Bartashevich (FRA) WR495 3-6 6-4 6-4

Not just unclear but wrong ...it has Millie losing third set 6-4. What is the point of live scores if they can't get it right?

I've given up

They say they're 'fixing it' in the next week or two - frankly, I don't believe it (it's SO bad)

But I'm only using the betting sites at the moment - because you can trust them - it's the foundation of their business to get the score right (and they have streams for quite a few matches too)

All the kerfuffle the ITF had with the betting sites a a few years ago, with big inquiries and then various procedural changes which they then largely reversed, and now folk are relying on the betting sites rather than the  ITF site to provide a basic score service.

The old ITF live scores app worked fine.  I don't know why they change it!

Because it didn't belong to the ITF. It was the IP of Sportsradar who no longer have the contract. I'd dispute the fact that it worked fine. It did when it loaded, but getting it to load took a few attempts at times.

Yes, but why have the ITF given the contract to a firm who obviously have not consulted tennis fans as to what info they want and how they want the information to be presented, and - what's more - can't even provide the basic info that any provider would obviously need to provide?

And it's no excuse - IMO - to say it's teething problems - it's been nearly 4 weeks now, it's getting worse, not better, and they should have sorted out nearly all of this BEFORE launch
