The 4 groups are drawn and ready for Saturday. And they look good!
Worthy of note - the Semis groups will be formed based on round one results, a bit like the World Cup ie depending on where a player finishes in round one, they will slot into a pre determined place in the semis. So no attempts at create balance, it will be the way the cookie crumbles.

Just wondering if you have decided who will get the Peace Prize?

I could do a poll to decide?!
Seriously - easy one. Sheddie - for somehow managing to set up a board like this where - largely - it is one of peace and calm and none of the backbiting and aggressive behaviour that seems to exist on most other forums. And without heavy moderation as well.
However Sheddie managed to create that culture, it has worked and he deserves any prize going his way!
Those who like their players of the season votes with a coffee and a bacon sandwich, the polls for the opening round will be posted tomorrow morning before breakfast. Theyre actually ready now so i could be bribed to go early! But Id get in trouble!
6 men and 6 women progress to the semis, polls will go up tomorrow.
4 of the wildcards also qualified. Which is good and shows the value of the wildcard voting
The semis groups are actually decided based on round one positions - Group 1 has 4 women and 2 men, Group 2 has 4 men and 2 women. The way the cookie crumbles.
I have been asked by someone to kindly not post as many posts on these polls and ideally not as many polls. I know it was done with good heart and was also done very nicely. I will try and pull back from the updates to scores that I post as I understand it can be too much if you are not into these.
I am not sure I will post fewer polls, but I will post less regular updates and hopefully that will reduce the traffic people see.
Apologies to anyone if I have overwhelmed them a little, probably me not reading the room!
For now the Player of the Season votes will push on through, I am travelling so will not be able to post many updates anyway and the process ends this week so will stop anyway at that point

In singles, although I have talked up ( and nominated ) the ITF men's singles guys and the men have had great singies depth, I always thought that for PoS, in singles the real big hitters for the year would come from our women, and it is certainly no surprise to me how Sonay, Fran, Mimi and Mika have come through, joined by Katie Swan and Alicia.
Indeed only 2 singles men have come through, Arthur and Toby, and both came through in 3rd place. The other 4 from our men come from doubles with Julian / Lloyd, Joe / Neal, Henry, and Luke.
It certainly looks like it will play out between our women singles players and our men doubles players. Will one of these manage to get 3 or more into the final ( out of I believe 4? )

Yep, it will be 4 in the final (plus ties).
I am now having to catch a train early tomorrow morning at 6 am to London, so will aim to post the semis groups when on the train as I need an early night tonight!!
Per the above, I was going to launch the semis polls tomorrow morning, but to be honest there is little point in waiting - it may be later tonight , towards the end of the night, but I will launch them today, albeit with a Thursday evening finish still.
As I am flying Friday morning early (7.45 am flight to DOha), I may then launch the final Thursday night instead of Friday morning with an aim to have that close Sunday evening as per the thinking above
APologies, but my work and travel is all over the place currently so hence the tinkering!
