Hope there are a LOT of withdrawals from Birmingham on Tuesday - the next one on the entry list is Ella at A57

Hannah will have a wildcard

And Mimi too, I'd have thought

They're both on the entry list

Mimi will stay down under I think.
Mika should get a WC though

 Good point

I hadn't seen that Mimi had put Birmingham as #2

Brooke Black will get a wildcard, if she's fit and wants one, I expect too

Jodie has withdrawn from Birmingham. Maybe shell use her PR to try and play qualifying in Doha?

Notice that is potentially 3 senior tournaments in a row for Mimi? So is she finished at school and now playing full time?

She finished school and has been full time for 18 months. She is doing A-Levels as a 'hobby' (as you do) having lessons with a private tutor when she has free time.

Thanks Lambda. I couldnt work out if she was going the Emma route as obviously she was limited as to how many tournaments she could play when she was still 16. Anyone who studies A Level further maths as a hobby has my respect! So I am thinking she will have some support from the LTA but will have to fund a lot of this activity herself from her winnings?

That's a little damned with faint praise

Mimi did her Maths A level two years early

So that's not a hobby, that's done and dusted

And, yes, she can now work towards further maths, but a lot of players continue to take their studies very seriously and I always got the impression that mimi was 9ne of those

The WTA has a feature on the Doha entries - and says Emma is currently 13th alternate for the main draw - the entry cut-off was WR47

For her sake I hope she plays qualifying if anything. The Doha field is very strong and she needs matches (again) - assuming she finds which airline lost her serve in transit.
