I thought Jodie played reasonably well against an opponent who gave her almost nothing. Plenty of Burrage winners, high first serve percentage. A few costly errors, the Burrage service game at *4-5 in the opening set featured two good serves wasted by blunders on her next shot. She didn't see many Ruzic 2nd serves but her returns of 2nds were often ok but didn't do enough damage to win the point or gain a decent position. The Burrage 2nd serve looked better yesterday, though one ace T 2nd today.

She doesn't have anything else to defend until September (and those aren't huge points either), so the 8 or so months should be a pressure-free opportunity for her.
Jodie has a PR she can use so she should be ok to enter decent tournaments and get her ranking back where it should be
How many times can She use that ? I thought it was just 3 or 4 times which she should save for Slams
For a period out of competition up to 39 weeks she can use it 8 times, with a maximum or 2 slams and 5 WTA1000 Mandatory tournaments.
She's already used one for the Australian Open, can she keep the other for the US Open given the French is a write-off and she'll get a Wimbledon WC if necessary?

The SR is valid for 52 weeks from return to competition, so, yes, she could keep it back, but if she picks up points and rankings earlier so as looking as not to need it for the USO she might go for the French.
WR100 is currently on 754 points, Jodie has 353 (live rankings, aftetoday's loss) to give you an idea of the task.
