Shame about the last 3 games from *4-3 which were borderline diabolical. But even if this was a missed opportunity, coming through qualifiers at this level is a good achievement and another step in the right direction as she gets used to playing at this level every week.
Onwards! And hope the legs ok, she seemed to be moving alright to me.

Interesting to see the performances of Wakana Sonobe this week who has defeated Baptiste, Bucsa and Yuan in straight sets to reach the second round through qualifying. Thinking of recent losses she had to both Stojsavljevic and Klugman, and how she's really stepped up at the start of 2025.
QF:- Olivia Gadecki (AUS) / Olivia Nicolls (GBR) CR138 (97+41) v Shuko Aoyama (JPN) / Eri Hozumi (JPN) CR96 (49+47)
Shulo and Eri put out the #2 seeds in a MTB. They lost to Liv and Tereza in straight sets last week (although Tereza was injured and retired in the next round)

Very! She won the AO juniors too. Before this week her highest counter was a 15K final, this run jumps her up about 375 ranking places.
