Boys & Girls: J30 Liverpool indoor hard (week 6)

TE overran, so running way behind.
Sarah Copley retired injured - left thigh..
Anna Wright is in a mammoth match with the Saudi star, into a third set. (Anna has a wildcard for next week as well).
The Latvian no.2 seed won as did Sophia C, who has played well this week.
Chloe Cleaver won easily

No more updates as I had to leave at 4.30pm to help at the athletics next door.
Ollie was a set down as was Casey at 7pm

Also, I believe Meg Knight is injured at the moment.

PS that me done now for this week and next, although there is half a chance I might pop in at the weekend.

13 year-old Tanishka lost to a 17 year-old, Chloe Cleaver, but age is obviously so important in these sort of events and in assessing promise

Anna Wright (age 14) v Rosie Cho (age 15)
Lean Bush (age 14) v Annabel Wong (age 14)
Chloe Cleaver (age 17) v Lauva (LAT) (age 17)

I forgot to mention I did see some TE matches.
Top seed Kamran Arif had a real tough match against a boy from Hong Kong, based at Bromley.
Joseph Knightley, who is a very confident young lad, lost in 3 sets to Sophie Bekker's brother.
Holly Hubbard-Hall's match was the best of the girls match by a mile. She is very tall...
Oscar Laskowski hits the ball very hard.

There was quite a bit of talk by the boys about a trip to Maribor.
Chris Wilkinson was there scouting.

I like the way Holly plays. She won a TE doubles title with Riley McElnea (Harrisons younger sister) Both of them looked very good.

The trip to Slovenia is something the LTA do every year. They put players into the 14U and 16U event there. Think its end of April/beginning of May

Wins for Annabel, Sophia, Rosie and Chloe in the girls

Wins for Jonny, Sam, Billy and the Irish lad in the boys

Shout out for Brandon and Alex, who have made the doubles Semi finals. They were alts and only got in as a late withdrawal. There ranking was high enough, but as Brandon was a MDWC, he was pushed down the list and a wildcard pairing pushed them out.
Strange that MD direct get priority and MDWC are a long way down the list...

Suprise results in the girls as both seeds were beaten, so:

Final: Chloe Cleaver v Sophia Christodoulou

Boys went to form:

Final: Jonny Cross v Billy Moxon

Doubles finals
Kuti/Tuna v Azarova/Laura
Knight/Martinez Vasquez v Mirrington/Ratanavong

The girls is basically a confirmation of the age factor

The 17 and 16 year olds won, over the 14 and 15 year olds

April Sackflame has had some decent results recently. That being said, Ingrid Dumitru should most likely be the favourite for the title.
