FQR: (q3) Toby Martin WR 842 defeated Charlie Swaine UNR by 4 & 4
I'm : the stupid new ITF live scoreboard is showing the score as reported, but a green tick against Charlie's name indicating that he was the winner & because it's only qualies, SofaScore is not showing the results!

Hearing good things about Patrick Brady, so expecting a few decent results this week.
About a year ago, Jaggy and I had an ongoing converstaion about Patrick
Jaggy argued - justifiably - that his game is more than the sum of its parts
I've watched him (Patrick, not Jaggy ) be very agile, a good engine, a decent game that could easily get up towards the 500 mark
But I'm still not convinced
(By neither him nor his brother, tbh, though it's sweet to see them both playing here together)
It's his serve that still needs work, the rest of his game is very good.
Sorry, paulis, but having watched a fair bit of Patrick's match today, the rest of his game is still not 'very' good - it's reasonable, it's agile, it's well-rounded, but it's nothing worthy of getting excited about
Very much as it used to be, tbh, just a touch better as he's got a little taller and stronger
He lost today to Ben Jones, and deservedly so - it was a close match but Ben (who isn't a great hope for GB tennis either) had the more fire in his game
Patrick's grandstanding and dying duck act - and refusing to shake the umpire's hand - is hardly endearing either
That said, Greg R shouting loudly from the stands at every point is hardly helpful - I've said before that I dislike it, and I realise it's each to their own, but shouting 'that's the way, there you go' when Patrick has made a UE, at a tense point at the backend of the match, and when Patrick is down the end where Greg is shouting from, is hardly 'fairplay'
