 Thanks Indy - one interesting thing; Jake got a higher percentage of the vote in the final that the semi or first round; which may mean his popularity grew or may just indicate early round tactical voting where votes where lent to other players, but his supporters came back to him for the final.

Well, we had the favourite British player polls and well done to Jake on winning that!

2 months down the line and Ive a bit of spare time on my hands so theres something new coming this week.

Favourite Overseas Player. Its going to be 128 players comprised of 64 men and 64 womens players to make 128. Brits like Jack, Jatie, Emma will be excluded as , being frank, they would win. This is to find out top non British favourite.

Ill be posting the first round on Tuesday - 16 groups of 8; top 2 through to a round of 4 groups of 8 ie 32; and then a final 8 for the top 2 in each semis group. Should all end Sunday evening. There will be overnight tie break votes where ties for the top 2 places occur. 

I did something like this in lockdown and it was well supported at the time - a bit of fun. So look out for it and give it a go!

 To  folks know, I plan to run this again in mid Feb this year. I dont plan to post too much generally but enjoy these and the favourite British player is a favourite of mine - probably the same format as last year. 

Not sure I plan to run the international one this year though, will leave that to someone else if they feel interested .

Groups will be taken straight down the rankings - each group of 8 will have 3 from mens singles, 3 womens singles and 1 each from mens and womens doubles. I will go straight down the rankings and across the groups eg Group 1 will have top mens singles player, group 2 second etc and then back across - and reverse for women's singles so all the number ones and twos etc are nicely separated out. MD and WD players allocated from the middle. 

I am using 9th Feb rankings, whatever they will be. 

Doing it this way is fair but inevitably there will be lots of peoples favourites clashing in the same groups and that will make it fun and difficult at the same time. I am not second guessing anyone's favourites but suffice to say, with 3 out of 8 going through, plenty of room for some tactical voting to take place - if anyone is willing to take the chance!!
