Great that you have such confidence in what's to come for Julian & Lloyd, Jon.
But for now they don't have a clutch of ATP 500 titles or any above so I reckon will be rather keen on this one.
Anyways, may the best pair win.
oh, I agree - they will really want this and it will be big for them, so yes - both pairs will want it, massively.
On a personal basis, I just want to see Joe and Neal get back in the winners circle, I just feel Lloyd and Julian will win more at 500 level and above in the near future and am happy to see Neal and Joe win this; if Julian and Lloyd win, though, that is great also!!
In rankings terms, Julian also sits at live rank 22 now and a win here will take him to 18. Neal is 16 and Lloyd is 17, so Julian joining them on 18 would be nice and neat.
Joe is 36th and would move up a few more with a win, from below 40 at start of the event
All four players are still relatively young so should have plenty of years ahead. I don't know what Joe's health prognosis is - have heard a lot of chatter about recent injuries. It's felt like Neal has been a little flat, although his successes with Wesley Koolhof are't that long ago.
But what a success story Julian and Henry have been. Both enjoying success in US college route, then going on that incredible run together, and now building great new parternships. And of course Harri first broke through with Lloyd.

Indeed - and all of these players (Julian, Neal, Henry, Lloyd, Joe, Harri even, and Jamie as well, Luke as well) have come up through the British system of Louis Cayer. I really dont what it is that the "British system" brings in terms of game structure and play that other systems dont, but the fact it is so successful and players like Harri recognise it and want to be part of it makes it something we should be proud.
I really should dig deeper and find out more about what it is that Cayer does for these guys method and tactics wise.

Isn't this a little misleading if several of them have spent 3-4 years at US college, honing their doubles skills?
I have huge respect for Louis Cayer - but not sure it's quite right to say they've all come up through the British system if, in fact, the US system was also a key part, as a key part of their development
Yes, exactly, that was the point of my post - as the US college system, obviously, puts a lot of focus on doubles, does a lot of specific coaching for it, in a way that the normal pro tour doesn't
Fair comments - I had assumed theyd all been involved in the British system - although I dont really know what that is? - but stand corrected !
Well, yes, obviously they've been 'involved' in the British system
But you can't attribute their success just to that, as per the Cayer post, if they've also been very much involved in the US system too
Yes, and I said I stand corrected ? Cant a guy change his mind around here?!
I was acutally saying you didn't need to capitulate - you were maybe partially right - we can't tell how much comes from one and how much from the other
