 Well done, Harry !

(Nothing against Giles, but I don't know the man, wouldn't recognise him, and I like Harry, he got my 'favourite match at Surbiton' vote a year or two back

Not watched Johannus before. Certainly the better of the two. Plenty in his game to work on so bags of room for improvement this year

Johannus up to 292 in the rankings. 60 odd points from 230ish which would be grand slam Qualifying cut-off roughly.might have a chance of making it for the French.

That was a wonderful match biggrin Harry was playing great and I love Bu's tennis too - so engaging from both

But I think my absolute favourite was the one just before - when Harry beat Pierre-H Herbert in the FQR match.

Partly because Harry won, but it was also the level and style was amazing, with PHH playing brilliantly, with some amazing net play, but Harry just managed to soak it all up and then give some back. And a lovely spirit in the match too.

Henry S lost to Lestienne  7-8, 6-0.  I watched the second set.  6-0 might be an unkind scorelinje, but there was a big diffference between the two players.  A stat that jumps out is that Henry won only 25% of points behind his 2nd serve.

Henry is still rather young, in his game as well as actually

I watched the end of the first set and the start of the second

He was very close in the first set - the TB was touch and go, Henry was all charged up, a little wild as is his wont, but playing well

And then he lost the TB, and he lost his mojo - he will learn that you can't do that in pro tennis

 Weight of shot?

Not really. Lestienne doesn't have a particularly heavy ball. And Henry gets amazing acceleration and whip on his ball.

I agree with CD, the weight of shot was not really a problem.  Too many errors in the second set.

I'm looking forward to watching Dan this evening, though not without some trepidation.  Does anyone have any idea whether Dan will make the cut for qualies at Indian Wells and Miami?  Last year, the last direct acceptance was 215 for Indian Wells and 158 for Miami.

Fingers crossed for Dan! He sits as alt 24 for IW qualies, would they expect it to drop that far for him to get in? Feels like a long way out, but I dont follow these things historically so maybe thats normal?!
