Dan now seeded to win the tournament. Doesn't sound like he's firm favourite though when it comes to form.

That's Rincón's doubles ranking info ( he'd have been seeded with that ranking ). His singles WR is 254 (CH 181).

Dan has lost the first set on a TB 6-7(7). He served for the set at *5-3 and had a couple of SPs during the TB.

Dan had a couple of SPs st 5-3* in the second set, served for it at *5-4, and had 3 BPs at 5-5* 40-0

But now 6-7(7) *5-6

To think that he led by a break in both those sets.  no  A big scalp in the Spaniard's eyes, I imagine...  hmm

Very entertaining match, but Dan should have won that in straight sets. Played some sparkling, inspired tennis and then just kept throwing it away with unforced errors. Saved match points in the tiebreak and then overhit a fairly simple forehand on set point.

Yes, I just watched the second set TB. Super lob on one point but that was indeed an awful miss, having set the point up well, when he had SP. And then a pretty poor miss to leave him the final MP against. The second set score was 7-6(9) by the way.

With his serve having been broken when serving for each set, and also such as that awful miss at SP in the TB, it looks like  he is maybe really lacking in confidence to get the job done.
