GB boys suffered three horribyl close three setter defeats in R2. So, in the QFs we're left with:
Boys QFs:
Harrison Cooper v Lucas Nolte
FAR FAR better in the girls, which we've now got a nice stranglehold of
Girls QFs:
Katie Randall v Elizabth Prangley
Jessica Morrison v Sevil Parviz
Sophie Ryland v Sophie Johnstone
Leah Puk (IRE) v EITHER Jessica Gunter or Ellie Barker
Good to see Katie Randall picking up points. She got wildcards last year and came up against very strong players. She was part of the GB age group squads.

Rosie gave a very interesting bio to Katie Randall a little while back - about her mum, and their strategy
The GB girls have done extremely well here - and not from the obvious sources either
All four semifinalists are British - but three of them are qualifiers

Sophie Johnstone (age 16) v (q) Jessica Gunter (age 17)
Yes, I really like everything about Katie
Sophies a Cambridge girl - very erratic and inconsistent. On her day shes very good and can beat higher ranked players. However she can easily lose to anyone too.
Jess M has been part of the LTAs national age group programme for a while. Small but moves well and commits to every ball. . Family are very serious about it all. She trains partly at Edgbaston and partly at a smaller club near home. Especially good on clay when her height isnt so much of a problem - the Astro/carpet court in Dublin will suit her
Its good to see Jess G doing so well. Trains at David Lloyd Bristol with the Head of Avon tennis (great coach but definitely a marmite character). Some good players coming out of there but they tend to develop a lot later. (Izzy Burrow is another one from there who is starting to do well at an older age)
Jess G is a great athlete who plays other sports at high level and has always hit the ball hard. During her younger years more would be long than in but thats no longer the case. Great level at DL LA Martyns squads. Quite a few players have been developing at the club where most of the kids who made and won eg PL 18s Nationals play. Avon is a small county and the majority of players have no funding yet us parents make huge efforts to help them develop and take them to itfs etc. Not financially easy at all but all parents try their best to help.
