Can't believe Jake isn't seeded in Phoenix. That's one tough field for a Challenger. I guess it's been filled by people who, like Jake, lost early in IW.

The 8 seeds are all in the top 75. The last direct entry is only 102. Even the last direct entry in qualies is 160

Similar level for Cap Cana and indeed for the 175 events more widely- there are 6 of them and they are on the middle Of the 1000 events in the USa and clay seaskn to provide an alternative for players knocked out in week 1 of the 10 day events.
Why on earth are there no WTA 125 events scheduled for the women, to similarly cater for them? Clearly the men's Challenger 175s are appreciated and very well subscribed, as surely would North American WTA 125s if the WTA could facilitate the staging of such an event(s).
The highest level events are ITF W75s in Romania and Hungary ( with Hungary being on clay ), so yes girls, nip across to these between being knocked out in Q or early in the MD of IW and playing Miami! ( if you would even be allowed to rankings-wise ). Otherwise put your feet up for potentially nearly a couple of weeks.
There are WTA 125s in Turkey in Miami Week 1, and in Turkey and Mexico in Miami Week 2.
