 Absolutely

What a classy match, all told

That first set could have gone either way - Jack was hanging on by a hair at times

And yet he made it hard for Joao, and played some really amazingly deep defence

And then waltzed the second, everything working for him

Brilliant

Excellent! I managed to watch quite a lot of the match. Very entertaining.

That second set was stunning. Jack won 9 games in a row from 4-3 down in the first set.

Joćo Fonseca was schooled today but it won't do him any harm, all part of the learning curve for the 18yo.

Any chance of Cam and Jack meeting in the final?

L32:  (13) Jack Draper WR 14 vs (PR) Jenson Brooksby (USA) WR 937 (CH = 33 in June 2022)

Brooksby beat FAA, the 17th seed, in straight sets (4 & 2).  I presume he's had some kind of long-term injury.

Great win for Jack - hadnt realised it was being played so nice to check in and see the score line!

Brooksby didn't play for two years following wrist surgery. That period included a 13-month doping suspension for three missed tests, but he was eligible to play from the beginning of 2024 so his wrist can't have recovered. He had only one match win in 2025 prior to Indian Wells. All things considered, a bad result for Auger-Aliassime.

I have tried to stay up to watch the latest Murray/Djoko adventure but I have to give it up. I do wish Andy well. I'm not with the Djoko haters at all, no matter how many times they remind us of their pov.

Jacks beaten Brooksby 2 and 2 and 1 and 2 in there two matches a couple of years back. Jack has improved since then, for sure.

Hes also 4th favourite for the tournie on tennis abstract, who rate him 5th on their ELO ranking.

FAA has had a great year so far so hoping it was a (very) bad day in the office.
