Weeks 10 & 11- ATP Masters 1000 - BNP Paribas Open - Indian Wells, CA, USA (hard)

2yrs included a 13 month ban.

Jack is fighting back, but it's not plain sailing

Jack wins the 1st set 7-5. He is much better than Brooksby so hopefully the 2nd set will be easier.

Second set Jack gets the break in game 7 but like the previous posters said it's been hard work.

I didn't know about the doping ban for JB but so many of those are overturned nowadays that you wonder if the testers know what they are doing.

Not easy but Jack does enough to take it in straight sets without too much wear and tear.

John Westerby's & Stu Fraser's thoughts on Jack's win against Brooksby in today's Times, including one or two interesting comments on his management of his hip condition (I've no idea which of them contributed the main section on Jack!).

Has anyone ever done any research on betting odds versus Tennis Abstract odds in terms of successful predictions?

And how do TA odds work? Is it linked to ELO surface rankings only or other factors?

Id need to check, but they take the ELO surface rating and apply them alongside Some other factors such as home town location etc , I believe, run several thousand simulations of the matches and pop out a percentage on that basis. He did do an analysis against ATP rankings to show how much more accurate they are, but not sure of anything against bookies predictions !

heres how Jeff describes what he does
