A series of high tariff junior events in Spain this month starts here. Max Carrier faces a familiar opponent, in the Lebanese/French boy who was a rival to Mark Ceban in under 14 events. Three Brits, including Sofia Tatu lost in qualifying
Boys R1 (L32)
Daniel Jade (FRA) v Maximilian Carrier
(WC) Pau Berto Bosca (ESP) v (2) Benjamin Gusic Wan
Daniel Jade (FRA) d. Maximilian Carrier 6-4 6-3 (2) Benjamin Gusic Wan d. (WC) Pau Berto Bosca (ESP) 6-3 2-6 6-2
R2
Maksym Kalabishka (UKR) v (2) Benjamin Gusic Wan
I know paulisi thought I was dissing Max Carrier when I said, a while back, that I didn't really rate him but Daniel Jade (age 15) is definitely a cut above, especially for his age
I'd hoped that Max would be going the college route but I don't see his name on any of the lists

I haven't seen many announcements of our boys signing up to US College for 2025/26. I think a lot of schools are holding back from making commitments until the ruling on the House settlement agreement next month which is creating a lot of uncertainty for next year over budgets and roster sizes. If that's approved many schools are going to need to reduce their rosters as rosters are proposed to be limited to 10 from next season, resulting in a surplus of men potentially looking for new schools in May if they still want to play college tennis which the incoming class will need to compete with to get offers from schools.

Interesting.... can't be easy for the potential students
It's April 7th, yes? The expected decision? Or when she finally hears the case, after all the pre- stuff, and the decision shortly after?

My understanding is 7 April is to hear final arguments from the lawyers covering the points raised in the submissions objecting to the settlement that were invited following her preliminary ruling to accept the settlement agreement. She can announce a decision the same day, but it is thought she is more likely to issue her ruling at a later date.
