The second J200 in Spain has 3 Brits as direct acceptances for the main draw, augmented by Hollie Smart, who negotiated qualifying comfortably. Ruby Cooling and Anna Boron lost out though.

Maximilian Carrier v (6) Michele Mecarelli (ITA)
(7) Benjamin Gusic Wan v (Q) Daniel Tezebakov (KAZ)
Hollie had no problem dealing with the lowly ranked wildcard, but she faces a much stiffer test next against the 15 year old Indian who has been mentioned by CD recently after reaching a WTA125 semi

R2
(5) Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi (IND) v (Q) Hollie Smart
Hollie's result isn't in yet - and it's true, David, that WTA125 result was amazing for Maaya (born 2009)
But it was on hard and, although she's at Rafa's academy now, I don't think she'll have really adapted to clay yet
Whereas Hollie has a very clay sort of game
So I'm hopeful......
Hollie did well, but eventually lost (Maaya had some decent results on clay last year in Mexico, to add to her hard court success). Ben won against a strong Spaniard.
