Week 12 - ITF W35 Sabadell, Spain Clay

Nice looking win for Hannah, especially bearing in mind the hopefully temporary DF handicap.

Yes, I think Pieri is a clay-lover - and, whatever magic Rafa has been working with Hannah in the last couple of weeks, it'd be a bit far-fetched to think that Hannah has morphed into a real clay angel

So, yep, a really nice looking win

Will Hannah have had much input from the great man himself or will it have consisted of working with his coaches?

 I've honestly no idea

I'm sure he'll have spoken to her - and probably passed by while she's training, or whatever

But I wouldn't be at all surprised if actually he'd been quite involved

It wasn't just Hannah there - there was Maaya Revathi and Yaneva, I think, and at least one other - i.e. a group of top, high profile youngsters all together - and Rafa loves his tennis and is very invested in his academy so I'm sure he'll have been involved (but not uite sure to what extent :) )

Rafa had a photo taken with Hannah so he definitely had that much involvement.

Yes, I'd seen the photo which made me wonder if he meets everybody but chooses to work with only some .. hey, what does he know about clay anyway ..

No play so far. Just spoken to a customer in that region who says the weather is not good today and the rest of the week

Looks wet as well today. Tomorrow looks ok but wet again Sunday. So cant see much more than the first few rounds being played.

Accuweather indicates showers every day - might be OK this afternoon for a while, but little chance of finishing the tournament now.

I live in Madrid, so nowhere near this area - but it has pretty much been raining here non-stop bar one or two days for a month.... most rainfall they've seen in March since records began!

Surely there's another option? Go indoors or something?

What happens now, is the tournament just cancelled?

I've had a look at the club's website and although it is a huge club with lots of facilities it doesn't appear to have any indoor courts. The site appears to be in Catalan rather than Spanish with no English option though.
