I would love to see Harry get back into the top 500 and then move on up from there.

Rum first name.  no  More one I'd associate with a Chinese girl!  Were his parents taking a leaf out of the Tiafoe family book?

He's actually Maé

Which is more Celtic/Breton

Connected to Maël, which is more common (from my experience)

Thanks for the explanation.  Duly noted for future reference.  Another reason for including accents...  wink  I've been to Brittany two or three times in recent years, but never come across the name, nor seen it in press articles.

No, me neither

I'm more from the south, and there's a few Maëls here and there, but I've never seen a Maé either

Just out of interest, I went and looked it up on French sites and seemingly it only ever really came into existence at the end of the 1990s, and was most popular in the 2000-2010 years, as sort of a dimintuive of Maël

But presumably only for young guys (like this Maé, who's only 18) so maybe you were talking to the older lot in Brittany, SC smile

Certainly was.  On each occasion, I was visiting a friend from my post-grad studies days who bought & did up an old farmhouse in the back of beyond with a view to settling there.  She was a Scottish country dancing enthusiast before she abandoned these shores (Northern Irish/Scottish roots) & then became involved in a local Breton folk dance group.  Everyone to whom I was introduced was pretty much in our age group.

And we have our fourth men's singles of the weekend:

Final:  (Q) Harry Wendelken WR 631 defeated Maé Malige (FRA) WR 612 by 6-7(6) 6-4 7-5  biggrin

Can JoMo possibly make it FIVE later?

Wow! A title out of nowhere, but very welcome and needed for Harry. Hopefully back into the Top 500 soon then onwards and upwards.
