Weeks 12 & 13 - WTA1000 - Miami, USA - Hard

Good win and a nice draw for first round. Why would Ishii have had a WC, is it to do with IMG? Obviously Emma goes straight into md with the wta 1000 tournaments but ironically this is a tournament where a qualifying draw opponent could have been higher ranked than her opponent.

Nice and straightforward. As it should have been. Well done Emma.

Calling all tennis boffins on here - does anyone know any more about Jodie's injury - specifically what has she injured, is it serious and is it short term or long term?

Some of you probably know how many slugs there are in each player's garden, so surely somebody knows the answer to this.

She has been struggling with shoulder issues

The fact that theres still no news or communication on Jodies instagram account does not look good

I saw someone who looked very much like Mark Petchey watching Emma's match.....

The Guardian said she had a former player and family friend with her today, maybe Petch was the former player ?

Very poor serving from Katie. Second serve is the weakest I can remember seeing it, and she's leaking error after error off her second shot.

Looks very much second best now, needs to find something if she wants to turn this around.

4-6 0-2*

Could be quite a challenge for Katie to get a Wimbledon seeding with the clay coming and Nottingham to defend
