Yes, I don't think there's any need for a pile-on on Katie, whose foot was in a boot until recently, and is not back at full fitness. For me, the second half of 2024 was a little disappointing following her stand-out win in San Diego. But maybe San Diego was the outlier. On her day she can compete at the highest levels, but dependent on her serve and forehand to be firing. If they aren't, she can sometimes struggle to find a Plan B, but she's only 28 and plenty of time to get back to fitness and form.

I hope i didnt start it - I just commented getting a Wimbledon seeding would be a challenge for her, which it will be.
But agree re comments made that we shouldnt write her off in general.

I wasn't piling on, or even being negative - just that with her injury woes over the years I think in those moments Katie would happily grab the success she has had over past few years. Hoping she can continue to have success over the coming years too. :)
No, you didn't start anything Jon. I was just reflecting on the comments that she may have reached her peak. And time will tell, but for me, that's not what's important at this stage.

Similar. It was just paulisi's post I was responding to, nothing prior or wales1994's comments.
Emma is living with Emma Navarro so far, could do with finding a little more than that to get her first win over a top ten player on a surface other than grass. It's anybody's game so far. 5-5.
how did she pull off that first set? I so wish she could get someone to work with who can groove her serve and get her to play the wider channels. It would transform her. But I'm thankful for small mercies at the moment ..
