But she's hitting through the ball beautifully, not coming off it at all

Second sets gone. Did it take, too much out of Emma to get that first set. Navarro isn't number 10 in the world for nothing. I kind of think she has this now. Hope Im wrong!

Looks like the consistency of a top ten player who plays at this level match after match and tournament after tournament is too much for Emma, yet Emma's won a GS and  Navarro hasn't.

Yes, Emma R needs to play more often than once a week

Quite frustrating because sometimes you can see it and then something unravels for poor emma

We could end up eating our words here. ER's just broken back in the 3rd set for 3-all, looks like Emma's found a second wind and tension is creeping into Navarro's shoulders. Strange match, and not a great watch anymore tbh.

First serve deserted her when serving for it unfortunately. But some recovery in this third set, some great tennis including that phenomenal forehand whipped angle to break at 4-3*

Phenomenal tennis from Navarro to hold from 30-0* at 5-4*. Looked like Emma was going to take it but four gorgeous points. Too good.

*5-5

Broken from *40-15. Another 3 great points from Navarro but then a very messy double fault, feeling the pressure to go bigger.

5-6*

Shame, but this has been a quality 3 games from the American.

Navarro serving for the match despite losing 4 games in a row from 3-1 up. How things change in the crazy world of tennis.

It's all about Emma R's brittle confidence. In the 8th game she finally played Emma R tennis and destroyed Emma N. Then she served one serve well and looked so confident. Then she was unlucky and everything drained away, back to playing it back to Emma N allowing EN's to play good looking ground shots.
