Shame, would have been interesting to watch how Hannah is developing her clay game.

She seems to be doing a good job of clawing this match back. 2-1 up in the decider, with the break

Double break up now, *4-1.

And DFs not so bad. Just moved on to 13.

 Yesh biggrinno

there's one sort of coaching training, where the coach make you play practice games or sets, but you're always 0-30 down at the start of each game

You sort of feel that's what Hannah's doing (it's 15 DFs now) - just for the fun of it - to practice disbelief

Hannah serving for it at 5-2

And she did it !!!

The DF figures are a horror but the score in sets two and three was very comfortable

And Lisa P beat the player ranked WR 192 in R1, and is a clay player, with a CH of about 310 or so

Excellent win for Hannah. Even more so with all those DFs.

Plays the winner of two qualifiers - great chance now to make her first senior ITF final?

Yes. Lilli Tagger, though, is one of those qualifiers

Lilli is a junior, and beat Hannah quite recently in the team competition, and was just selected as one of IMG's starlets to play the qualies at the WTA1000 event in Miami i.e. she's a real rising star (bit like Hannah really). Not a 'normal' qualifier, unlike the other woman, the French player.

As expected, young Lilli Tagger beat the French player

So, it's:

SF: QF: (JE) Hannah Klugman (GBR) (age 16) WR 587 v (q) Lilli Tagger (AUT) (age 17) WR 755

As above, Lilli is one of the most talented youngsters, a tall girl with a killer one-handed backhand

She's part of IMG's squad, which is why she got the wildcard into WTA Miami 1000 qualis - and acquitted herself very respectably

Hannah lost to Lilli, on clay, I seem to remember, quite recently, as part of one of the team competitions (Winter/Summer Cup? BJK Juniors?). But it was terribly close (again if I remember right)

An interesting match-up .....

Interesting match. Apparently Lilli is a protegee of Francesca Schiavone

I wonder if she gets called Tiger Lily, though children probably don't read Peter Pan these days.

I see that she is Austrian, so AUT, though I could have believed with her name that she was Australian.
